A body first script for staying regulated at 2am.
What it is
A short, spoken script for the middle of the night. It gives your body a path back to calm before you go to your baby, because your regulation is the tool.
When to use it
Before you get out of bed for a night waking, in the hallway on the way to the crib, or in the rocking chair when the tears feel bigger than the moment.
How to use it
- Feel your feet on the floor before you take a step.
- Exhale slowly, longer than your inhale.
- Drop your shoulders and unclench your jaw.
- Say the anchor line silently to yourself.
- Move slowly. Slow bodies calm small bodies.
