Self-regulation for parents
Good Enough Parent Journal
Release perfectionism and notice progress.
What it is
A short daily entry built around the research finding that 'good enough' parenting — not perfect parenting — is what raises secure children. It trains your attention away from failures and toward small wins.
When to use it
At the end of any day that felt like a failure, or as a nightly five-minute practice. Especially helpful in seasons of burnout, postpartum, or major transitions.
How to use it
- Write down one thing that didn't go to plan today.
- List three small things that still went right.
- Note one moment of connection, however brief.
- Tick the still-mattered checklist.
- Close the journal — done is better than perfect.
