How this works
The four styles come from Diana Baumrind's classic research (1966, 1971) and subsequent work by Maccoby and Martin. They map two axes: warmth or responsiveness, and structure or demandingness.
Every real parent uses every style at some point. What this quiz shows is the pattern in this season, with this child, on these days. It is not a personality label.
Regulation-first parenting is not a fifth style. It is a foundation any style benefits from: attend to your own nervous system, then bring what you already believe in.
